Pou de Gel de Solsona

During the most frequent months the gel was stored and preserved indoors and was marketed from late spring to Tots Sants. It is a very interesting and obligatory visit.

2. Palau Episcopal i el Museu Diocesà i Comarcal de Solsona
The Palace was built by Bishop Lasala in the 18th century. The main facade, next to that of the Palau de la Virreina in Barcelona, are the most outstanding examples of Catalan neoclassicism.

The Museum has in its exhibition rooms of prehistory, medieval art and a collection of salt objects from the mines of Cardona. It is one of the first museums founded in Catalonia.
3. Portal del Pont
Remains of the first walls and three of its towers remain standing in Vall Calent. The walled enclosure was accessed through the portals which were closed towards the evening with wooden doors. Today, only three remain.

After the twelve-arched stone bridge was built in the late 18th century and destroyed in 1939, this portal became the main entrance to the city.
4. Catedral de Santa Maria de Solsona
Of the Romanesque church (1070-1163), notable witnesses are preserved such as the three apses, the bell tower, the cloister, the cellar and the canons' dining room, currently the hall of the Holy Martyrs.

The current cathedral is Gothic style, built between the 13th and 17th centuries. To the left of the transept is the Mercè chapel, with a baroque altarpiece. On the right, there is the chapel where the image of the Virgin of the Cloister, from the twelfth century, cataloged as one of the most important sculptures of the Catalan Romanesque, is venerated. The outer door of the cathedral square is neoclassical (1780) with a relief of Saint Augustine in ecstasy. In the Plaza de Palau there is the baroque facade of the Asunción (1769).

5. Plaça de Sant Joan
In the middle of the square is the 15th century fountain, formerly called Major fountain. The chapel located above is dedicated to Sant Joan (18th century). On the back there is a plaque with the poem "Record de Solsona", by the poet Josep Maria de Sagarra.
